Our Story

First Comes Love

Caleb and I first met in a mutual friends college dorm room in 2017. I was over to watch Harry Potter (where are all my Potterheads at!?) and of course the TV wasn’t working and no one could figure out how to fix it… classic, I know. One of the girls said, “okay, I’m texting Caleb to come fix it.”

At this point I wasn’t even sure who Caleb was. I just knew he was in the same class as my friend that semester. I’m not sure if it was the beard or the Harry Potter reference he made, but something was telling me I needed to get to know him better.

After coincidentally going to the gym at the same time (wink, wink), casual flirting, and finally getting each others numbers (3 long months, people!) we finally went on a date aaaannndddd the rest is history!

Then Comes Marriage

Kaci and I became “official” in April 2017 and in May that same year, she left for Hungary for three weeks. Although it wasn’t the ideal situation to be away from each other so long that early in our relationship (we’re not great at long distance), it actually made us grow closer.

Seven months went by and we had tickets to an Ed Sheeran concert. After many talks of what our future together would hold, I decided that the concert was the perfect place to propose. During one of Kaci’s favorite songs I dropped down on one knee. After a double take, she said yes!

We finished out our senior year and I left for South Africa for three weeks, only to arrive back home two weeks before we got married. June 30, 2018 was a celebration filled with sweet and sweaty friends and family thanks to it being 100 degrees out!

Two years has somehow gone by so fast but has also felt like a lifetime.

Then Comes Family

After sharing a small basement apartment in the city with our (queen of a) cat, Crookshanx, for the first year of marriage, we decided it was time for some breathing room.

Two houses, the same cat, and one baby later, we are soaking in every moment of being a family of three. We live with a view of hills, apple trees and our neighbors sheep roaming their field. Our baby is now a 3 year old, which seems unreal, and we like to spend every moment possible outside together.

We love our story and we hope you’ll invite us to capture some of yours.
